About Jade

Born and raised in the small NSW town of Gunnedah, Jade is passionate about her community and its people. She loves to sew, take walks in the forest, and take time to create. Holding importance in sustainability and waste reduction, Jade has endeavoured to repurpose and recycle in her creative practices, and support Australian small businesses wherever possible.

Jade has worked for over seven years at her local art gallery: learning and then facilitating the curation of exhibitions, interactive installations and art-related community events.

Artist

Creating art for as long as she can remember, Jade enjoys a wide range of artistic practices. From acrylic on canvas to creating funky sculptures out of waste products, she is in her element when getting covered in paint, tearing up papers, and building something new.

Having taught many workshops over the years, Jade has designed and facilitated her own ten-week curriculum for children, countless workshops, paint-and-sip nights for adults, and painted live at special events. She has been a driving force of art in her community, creating The Sisterhood Of The Couch Surfing Canvas Collective, and starting an initiative during COVID lockdowns, sending a travelling Junk Journal to creative women to contribute to. The Journal is now part of the Gunnedah Town Collection.

Author

Developing a love for creative writing, Jade has written several books - from a memoir complete with images of her artworks to a children's book illustrated by The Sisterhood Of The Couch Surfing Canvas Collective, Jade's books are designed to create laughter and encourage the reader to follow their dreams, and be their true selves.

Creator

Jokingly describing herself as 'easily bored', Jade also dabbles in creating fun family games and activities, and has played an active role in delivering community events designed to enrich the community. Assisting small local businesses with promotion and in maintaining a strong online prescence, she creates content for the local country markert facebook page, has designed business cards, delivered small business rebranding packages, and is passionate about being an active member of her community.
